Coronavirus Update

In these unprecedented times, as it has always been, the welfare of our colleagues and clients, remains our highest priority. As the situation around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are doing everything we can to reduce potential risk of the virus transmission and have taken additional measures to protect our people and business critical services – while still delivering engineering excellence.

What we are doing?

  • We have an Integral COVID-19 Management Team with stakeholders from each function, who are having daily calls and coordinating our responses.
  • We continue to follow the Public Health England recommendations regarding the developing COVID-19 and the enhanced advice of JLL, our parent company.
  • We have updated all business function ERPs and BCPs and are reviewing and updating constantly in readiness for various scenarios and escalations.
  • All staff have been issued with guidelines and training on hygiene and infection control and are receiving regular updates.
  • In response to the coronavirus, our teams have been trained in enhanced precautionary measures to make our usual cleaning and hygiene even more rigorous.
  • We are bringing in more operatives to carry out deep cleans where required and our cleaning teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced operating protocols.
  • We have equipped all support staff in Payroll, Admin, HR and Helpdesk with IT solutions to enable remote working while maintaining business continuity.
  • Client meetings – (tenders, bids/renewals, mobilisation and transition meetings, account reviews etc) are suspended and we are utilising technology to conduct these remotely where realistically feasible. This also applies to supplier meetings.
  • We are advising staff to postpone or cancel personal travel internationally and those who do may be asked to work from home upon return.
  • Our Projects teams continue to work on their respective sites, carefully following the internal protocol process and working closely to the guidelines set by clients.

Engineering service delivery

Our engineers continue to work to daily schedules – adjusted where required and take pride in calmly, professionally and safely getting the job done. We continue to monitor hot spots and comply with client requests and updated protocols by advising appropriate action on a case by case basis.

It may become appropriate to restrict travel within a certain radius or reduce the service levels on the accounts whether this be by request from Clients, Government or through Integral risk assessments. These could take the form of responding only to life or safety critical call outs or undertaking statutory PPM’s only.

However, these risk control measures will only be introduced with consultation and agreements with the client. The main consideration through the control of the risk is the employees on all parties and the control of the spread of the virus.

What to do if you have a suspected case on your premises

Please immediately alert us via the Helpdesk and notify your Integral account manager.

They will liaise with our Covid-19 and Operations teams and we will then take appropriate safeguarding action and adjust our service delivery, in consultation with yourselves.

We will not send engineers to client sites with suspected COVID-19 unless there is a critical emergency. Other than emergencies, engineers will only be accessing an area once it has already been deep cleaned. On return, any site risk will be considered as part of the normal risk assessment method by the engineer on site.

It is optional for these employees to wear the following PPE which is included as standard kit:

  • disposable overall (BS EN ISO 13982-1+A1)
  • disposable single use gloves latex or equivalent,
  • disposable respirator to standard EN 149 (type FFP 2 or 3) face fit mask.
