The large site of Marne Barracks had its buildings fed from an existing District Heating Scheme which was in a very poor state of repair and needed replacing.
Integral were employed by Amey Defence Services as their main contractor to manage this project and install a newly designed District Heating Scheme using our own directly employed labour as well as various specialist subcontractors this included the extensive groundworks for trenching to allow the new pipework to be installed, site wide and the subsequent re-instatement to grassed and Tarmacked areas.
As the project at Marne draws to completion, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Integral in particular Nigel and Steve for all the work done over the last year.

The attitude and ethos shown by Integral has played a major factor in the success of the project and they have won over a particularly hard customer in the military/end user at Marne. They went above and beyond at times and without doubt proven to be a reliable and professional contractor that myself at Amey will have no issues with inviting you to tender for more work.
The new pipework was taken from the existing boilerhouse with a changeover from the existing scheme which became redundant then via external valve boxes with connections to the existing buildings. Two packaged plantrooms were also provided to independently heat specific buildings with the main feeds to these buildings, again being installed underground.
Overall approximately 2.5 miles of underground pipework have been installed on this fully occupied/operational site which presented many challenges concerning required road closures as well as the need to keep certain buildings operational throughout the duration of the works all of which was done in close liaison with the Military.
